Let's open our eyes and look at poverty. We believe that every single person is a son or daughter of God through our Saviour Jesus Christ. Can I then turn my head, not see their needs? Children who have just begun to live are dying. Yes, they are dying because they have no food, no water, no medicine.

Residents on the hot island of Margarita are forced to be inside their homes. Some sit on the threshold of the open door. The house is unbearably hot. The temperature is between 28 and 30 degrees. High humidity makes breathing even more difficult.

Unemployed, single mother. Everyone, children, and adults are severely malnourished. It is not enough to help them once. They need constant help with groceries so they can eat something for breakfast and dinner.

Today, like Jesus, they ask, "Let me drink!". Jesus wanted us to approach Him, to meet Him in prayer and heart-to-heart dialogue, to talk to Him, to listen to Him, to see His face in the face of a suffering brother or sister.

Brother and sister, Rafael David and Silvia Margarita, were found dead and in a state of disintegration in an apartment they shared in Caracas.

It’s sad to see children exhausted, half-naked and barefoot or wearing some torn flip-flops sitting by the side of the road. They are malnourished, merely bone and skin. Their inflamed eyes call for help.

Children, the elderly, the sick and the healthy are on their knees. There is a shortage of everything. When people get to the food, the search for where to cook follows. In addition to our regular customers, we share food with others in need, and everyone is needy. It is a great pain to decide who to help, who is hungrier. Wherever I go, people beg for food.

Neglect, corruption and poor management of state goods have worsened or destroyed all public services; state institutions have been destroyed.

Your contribution, albeit a small one, will allow us to continue to bring food drinks to children in need on Margarita Island.
